FAQs
Do you have questions about All About The Children’s transaction, scheduling and communication software for your post-divorce, co-parenting or joint custody communication needs?
What is All About The Children (AATC)?
AATC is a comprehensive, secure web enabled communication vehicle that allows divorced or unmarried co-parents and parents who share joint child custody, to objectively communicate through a third party tool. Ours is an innovative, one-of-a-kind tool that provides three distinct resource areas unlike any other tool on the market. These three areas include the Mail Room for communications, a Calendar to plan for child visitation, child related events and joint custody schedules, and a Money Matters section to post and make secure and objective transactions. All communications are date and time stamped to avoid potential confusions and conflicts and are easily printed and submitted as excepted court documentation.
Why do I need AATC?
Lack of effective and timely communication is one of the most serious sources of conflict facing co-parents who are living separately, and it’s often the children who pay the price for this conflict. All About The Children is all you need to coordinate the information necessary to know what's going on with your children and ensure their needs are being met in one simple location. Wherever you are, as long as you have access to the Internet, you can see your children's schedules, communicate with your ex-partner, and pay for and post expenses for them. ALL communications can be done through All About The Children’s three pronged communication tool regarding your children, eliminating the temptation to place them in the middle of any contentious conversation.
Can my children have access to AATC?
Yes. The custodial parent can allow the children limited access to view the Calendar of events, but not to alter it. Children may also be allowed to have their own accounts in the Mail Room in order to communicate with either parent. However, the children will never be able to see any communications between the parents.
What if I have joint custody? Who sets up the children's accounts?
In joint custody situations, it is the parent with whom the child or children live with on a more regular basis that will set up the children's accounts. In the case where a child lives with each parent 50% of the time, it will be up to the parents to decide.
Who can change events on the Calendar?
The custodial parent will set up the Calendar and post events and child visitation schedules. The non custodial parent can view the Calendar and may use the Mail Room to ask questions about events, child visitation schedules, or state the need to change an event or scheduled visit. The custodial parent can grant access to the non custodial parent to post events to the Calendar if they also schedule activities for the children.
How will I know if something changes on the Calendar or if I owe money?
If a change occurs in your account, an email will be sent to you informing you that there has been activity in your All About The Children account.
Why would I use Money Matters? How do I know my money is secure?
Using Money Matters is simple and convenient! It is a confidential, discreet way for you to meet your children's financial needs quickly, and works just like you would pay an online bill. Payments and requests for payments are date and time stamped, eliminating arguments about whether an expense was paid or when it was paid. A summary sheet is available to print at your convenience. We at AATC store all of the information regarding that transaction in a safe electronic vault.
AATC uses TrustCommerce (TC) as a “payment gateway” for funds. TC provides a powerful e-billing application designed for one-time or recurring payments. TC securely stores information and privacy data within TrustCommerce's PCI compliant data storage vault. This allows for safe and secure data transmission and storage with the highest level of encryption technology available.
The children will never be able to view any of the Money Matters transactions between parents.
Can automatic payments be set up? Is there a cost?
Yes and yes. At AATC you can set up recurring financial transactions for child support or make single payments, like for a one-time visit to the dentist. This is done by setting up your checking or savings account on our site and allowing us to facilitate payments to the ex-partner. There is a transaction fee of 2.75% added to each transaction. Each transaction is fully secure, and no one but you may authorize withdrawals from your account.
What is the benefit of using the Mail Room versus my personal e-mail?
Personal emails can be deleted, changed, and manipulated, and there may even be cases in which a parent wants to keep their personal e-mail address confidential. One of the main benefits of using AATC is that it is objective: All communications are date and time stamped. This means that once you post a communication and it is opened, it is recorded in our database with the time and date it was sent and opened. All communications can be summarized and printed if needed. Our Mail Room is secure so you cannot delete what was sent or change it in any way.
Will AATC staff—or anyone else—have access to the Mail Room or Money Matters?
Only the administrators have access to the site, and only the parent can authorize specific or recurring payments.
